There are different football products being sold in this market. Some suit you, some do not. The mistake is paying for one and discovering you signed up for another.
I want to be direct about something. There is a wide range of football products in the Spanish market, sold at very different price points, marketed in similar language. Some of them are excellent for the right player. Some of them are not what they appear to be. The variable that matters most is not which product is “best“. It is whether what you sign up for is what you actually get.
The Three Broad Products
**Real integration**, registered through the federation, competing in an official Spanish league, with a recognisable club partnership and a documented record at the end. Suits players whose goal is a verifiable European football record.
**Real academy training**, a structured environment with quality coaching and facilities, without an official competitive licence. Done well and marketed honestly, this is a legitimate product, particularly for younger players or players using the time as a pre-season ahead of returning to their domestic system.
**Short-term assessment or showcase**, a focused window inside a club environment, designed to evaluate the player and give them written feedback. Useful as an entry point or honest reality check before a longer commitment.
All three are valid products. The issue arises when one is sold as another.
How to Tell the Difference
Ask directly. Will I be registered as a player with the federation? Will I compete in official matches in a recognised Spanish league? Who is responsible for selecting players, the club’s technical staff or the programme operator? How many competitive matches over the period?
The answers should be specific and put in writing before any commitment is made.
WHAT REAL TRANSPARENCY LOOKS LIKE
Football product: Stated clearly in writing, integration, academy, or assessment
Federation licence: Yes or no, with the specific competition named if yes
Match volume: Specific number of competitive matches expected
Club involvement: Technical staff role in selection clarified
Welfare contact: Named individual with a direct line
What is included: Written list, with what is extra clearly noted
The Bottom Line
Pay for what fits your level, your age, and your goal. Make sure the operator is honest about which of the three products they are offering. Ask the questions. Get the answers in writing.
The product is rarely the problem. The honesty around it usually is.
The starting point for any player we work with is an honest evaluation. Submit yours at nxtfootballer.com/evaluate.
