Most profiles get ignored in 10 seconds. Here is exactly what to put in yours.
A football profile is not a CV. In Spain it is a technical document, and it needs to be treated as one. The profiles that get genuine responses from Spanish technical directors are specific, honest, and structured around the information those technical directors actually need to make a decision.
The typical profile that gets ignored is written like a personal statement. Spanish technical directors are not unsympathetic, but your background and your dreams do not help them make a football decision.
What Goes at the Top, Always
The video links. First, before anything else. A full-game all-touch video from a recent competitive match. A highlights package of maximum five minutes. These are the most important elements of the entire document.
A technical director who is interested will watch the footage immediately. A technical director who is not will not read past the first section regardless of how well-written it is. Make the footage findable in five seconds.
The Technical Information That Actually Matters
Full name and date of birth. Nationality and passport details, critical for registration assessment. Primary position with a specific description of how you play it. Height, weight, and dominant foot. Competitive history for the last three seasons: club name, division or league level, approximate appearances and goals or assists. Current fitness and injury status.
That is the profile. Everything else is noise.
THE PROFILE STRUCTURE THAT WORKS
Line 1: Full name, DOB, nationality, passport, height, dominant foot
Line 2: Primary position, specific, not generic
Line 3: Video links, full game first, highlights second
Section 1: Competitive history, last 3 seasons, club, level, minutes/goals
Section 2: Technical description, how you play your position specifically
Section 3: Education and visa status, relevant for planning
Total length: One page maximum, if it is longer, cut it
The Language That Converts
Spanish technical directors appreciate directness. “I am a central midfielder who plays as a single pivot, comfortable in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, with specific strengths in pressing triggers and distribution under pressure“ tells them far more than ”I am a dynamic and versatile midfielder with excellent technical skills.“
Be specific. Be clinical. Make the value undeniable in the first thirty seconds.
